On Sunday September, 13th we joined several other wedding vendors at the Hotel Julien Dubuque for a bridal show sponsored by Soiree. We met a lot of excited prospective brides and their families taking in the fashion show and looking for wedding day vendors. It was a busy day and if you did not get a chance to stop by our table or didn’t have time to have all of your questions answered we would love to spend more time with you. Schedule a consultation today and we will show you how we can give you the wedding photos of your dreams. (563) 543-0306.

A big congratulations goes out to Amanda and Jon. Two fantastic HyVee families united. Amanda Conzett and Jon Marks celebrated their wedding vows at Nativity Catholic Church on Saturday June 13th, 2009.
An early morning greeted Amanda and the bridesmaids at 7:00 am for hair and makeup with Exsalonte Salon on University. A little bit of rain in the morning didn’t dampen their spirits at all. We met up with Jon and the groomsmen at the church about 9:00 am. Once there everyone got dressed and we captured a private moment between Amanda and Jon before shooting portraits with the rest of the family and wedding party. The ceremony at 2:00 pm whizzed by and we were on the trolley by a little after 3:00 pm. The wedding party stopped at the University of Dubuque for a quick photo opportunity. The UD campus has some absolutely wonderful places to take pictures. From there we made our way to the reception at the Peosta Community Center. What an evening! The HyVee crew really knows how to party and boy did we party.

Congratulations Melissa and Tim! Melissa Rang and Tim Feldmann celebrated their wedding vows at St. Lukes Catholic Church on Saturday May 30th, 2009 in the quaint little town of Hopkinton or “Hop Kitten” if you are a local. Hopkinton is about 45 minutes to the South West of Dubuque.
Melissa’s morning started before 7:00 am in Dubuque with the bridesmaids for hair and makeup at The Design Studio. From there we joined the rest of the wedding party at the church in Hopkinton about 9:00 am. Melissa and Tim slipped out for a quiet opportunity to see each before the festivities of the day were in full swing. Wedding party and family portraits followed, wrapping up the formal picture work before the ceremony so that they could focus on having fun with their guests the rest of the day. After the 2:00 pm ceremony the wedding party hopped onto a hay wagon for a nickel tour of the town stopping for a photo opportunity at the historical Lenox College. From Hopkinton the wedding party made their way to the Peosta Community Center for the start of their reception at 5:00 pm. Toasts, dances, garter and bouquet tosses all filled the evening. They ended a wonderful day dancing hard to a great mix spun up by my favorite DJ – TJ from T’s and J’s.

Congratulations to Andrea and Nick who recently celebrated their wedding in Bellevue on Saturday April 25th, 2009. Â While we endured rain for the better part of the day I don’t think it slowed down the festivities. Â We even managed to slip out between the rain showers for pictures along the river in Bellevue and out on to the deck at the Peosta Community Center.
We had an early morning with Andrea starting at Amirage Salon in downtown Dubuque at 6:00 am. Â It took quite a while to wrap up all the girls’ hair with nine brides maids, two mothers and of course our bride. Â
After hair, makeup and a bit of travel time to Bellevue we arrived at the church around 9:15. Â Kris and I split up to keep things on pace. Â She went with Andrea to capture images of the dress and what goes into the bride getting ready for her special day. Â I worked at setting up our lights in the church and then shooting a few images of Nick our groom. Â
With the rain outside we moved our groom into a side room of the church where both he and the bride could share a few private moments before everyone arrived. Â Kris and I love to arrange these private moments for our couples to allow them the oppertunity to enjoy each other before the day pulls their attentions elsewhere. With the popularity of destination photos after the ceremony and the time constraits of an evening mass, the private moment has become a standard.
St. Joseph’s is a beautiful church for portraits. Â We worked through quite a few sets of photos including the bride, the groom, the bride and groom together and then with their wedding party. Â We wrapped up the posed photo session with their families.
The ceremony started at 1:00 pm with Father Kevin Schmittgens (a guest) performing the ceremony and mass. Â Father Kevin delivered a touching homoly centered around the bonds of marraige. Â To be honest it had me on the edge of my seat guessing as to who he was referencing to when he held up a wedding band.
Exiting to bubbles, Andrea and Nick boarded their charter bus and headed over a few blocks to the river for a quick destination photo opportunity. Â From Bellevue we made our way to Brick Town in Dubuque. Â We had a fantastic photo opportunity there with the wedding party shooting group photos down in The Deep on the bar.
After some celebration at Brick Town we drove ahead of the bus to meet Andrea and Nick at the Peosta Community Center. Â What a great evening to round out such a special day for our couple. Â Great food from Kalmes, Rob from BMW spinning tunes and a fun crowd kept the evening rolling until midnight. Â
After such a long day I can’t imagine anyone from their families or the wedding party not ready to crash. Â Despite the rain we had a great time with Andrea and Nick. Â We wish them both many happy years.

Congratulations to our new bride and groom who were just married on Saturday April 18th, 2009. Â They had a spectacular day even though the sky threatened to rain off and on. Despite the weather, the temperature was just right and we still managed to slip in some outside portraits and stay dry.Â
Our day with Jill and Adam started out at 7:00 a.m. with Jill at Changes Salon. Â If you don’t know where that is, it is the new building opposite the Olive Garden and Clock Tower West. Â We were really surprised by the new building and its interior. Â It is very nice and the hairdressers at the salon were just as friendly.
From the salon we made our way to St. Columbkille’s Catholic Church about 8:30 a.m. Â After Jill got dressed we met up with Adam for some stunning private moment images. Â One of our favorite moments of the day was shooting with them along the columns inside the church. Â After about and hour with our couple we busied ourselves the rest of the morning with portraits of Jill and Adam with the wedding party and their families.
The ceremony started at 1:30 p.m. with a church full of family and friends.  Father Gabriel performed the Rights of Marriage and Mass.  The singers and musician playing the piano did an outstanding job.  Kris and I always enjoy ceremonies at St. Columbkille’s Catholic Church.
I hitched a ride on the waiting trolley with the wedding party and headed off to a couple of outdoor locations including the River Walk and a couple of indoor locations to celebrate with the wedding party.  The time we spent at the River Walk was another of our favorite times during the day.  We were able to take some truly stunning photos there. Â
After some fun and excitement we made our way to the newly renevated Hotel Julien for their reception at 5:30 p.m. Â Grand entrance, cutting of the cake, toasts and dancing rounded out the night. Â Our evening with the Herrig’s ended with the end of the reception at 10:00 p.m. Â
It was a long day but we truly enjoyed the time we spent with Jill and Adam. Â They are a wonderful couple and we wish them both a happy and lasting marriage.

Â
Another year and 30,000 more Easter Eggs.  Once again we volunteered our time and talent to Cumulus Broadcasting for their Annual Easter Egg Hunt. Of course, all of this is for a fantastic reason as all of the proceeds from the Easter Egg Hunt are donated to the Children’s Miracle Network. It is so exciting to help put on something fun for the kids and yet give to those who really need it.
We volunteer our time in several ways to the radio station for this project including helping them stuff the 30,000 eggs.  This year we offered two door prizes to give away and we are donating any profits from pictures taken at the Easter Egg Hunt that we sell. It is just another way for us to give to such a great cause.
